Aries Crystal Embroidery

Aries the Ram stands as the very first sign in the zodiac; headstrong, dramatic and decadent, it is the perfect astrological sign for this bold and shimmering crystal embroidery to take its name from. Measuring a generous 17.5cm x 9.5cm, the Aries crystal embroidery features a cluster of gorgeous diamantes shaped into a floral design, which has been skillfully embroidered by hand. The central diamante cluster is tulle-covered to give an astounding visual effect and filigree thread, clear and silver sequins, tubular beads and pearls have been used to provide added shimmer and sheen.

Sheila Lace Trim

With a delicate ivory tone and ultra-feminine floral embroidery, Sheila lace trim is one of our most popular wedding fabrics, being used for everything from wedding dress embellishments to venue decorations and bridal accessories. This is a design that is hard to explain; both strikingly vibrant and decorously subtle, this lace trim seamlessly blends a variety of styles, finishing off with an expertly-arranged selection of beads, pearls and sequins. Check out our online gallery to see pictures of a stunning dress made using this glorious and unique lace trim.

Brogan Ivory Lace

Measuring just 33” (84cm) in width, Brogan ivory lace is designed to complement Sarah wedding lace, which was featured in our last news article. The floral theme of Sarah is continued in Brogan, where it is enhanced with the use of delightful and luxurious cording. Both sides of this lace are scalloped symmetrically and feature a floaty, feminine fringe.

Coloured Lace Trims - Our Contemporary Collection

Coloured lace trims and edgings are the perfect way to bring an exciting visual splash to bridal wear. Extremely versatile, they can be used creatively in a variety of ways, from embellishing and complementing a wedding dress to making unique accessories - lace trim has even been used to give an exciting and individual look to the wedding cake!

At Platinum Bridal Fabrics, we have created an eclectic collection of coloured lace trims and edgings. A myriad choice of 17 styles and 23 colours comprise the range, allowing our customers to make exactly the right choice. From soft pastel tones to bold and vibrant shades, the rainbow selection of colour is guaranteed to make your wedding dress or accessories simply perfect.

Go girly with Candy Pink or choose China Blue for a softly enticing aesthetic. Woodland Brown is perfect for autumn weddings while Orange will bring a much-needed burst of warmth to a winter wedding gown. If you’re going for a rich, regal feel, try the Violet lace trim; Chartreuse, one of our most popular choices and bang on trend, is another luxurious hue and is truly fit for a queen.

Sophia Lace Trim

Designed to match and complement our lace and lace appliqués of the same name, Sophia lace trim is both beaded and corded to give a gorgeous and tactile three-dimensional effect. The repeating pattern calls exquisite royal crowns to mind and the lower edge features a delicate, ethereal fringe supported by thick cord which visually underpins the design.

Martina Lace Trim

This unusual fabric begins with extensive embroidery before the backing is removed to give a startlingly pretty effect. The talented designer has then used fine, delicate cording to highlight and embellish the petals and leaves that make up the design. Small, subtle beads are hand-sewn onto the asymmetrical borders to add the perfect finishing touch to Martina lace trim.

Claire Lace Trim

Easily our most magnificent and luxurious edging fabric, Claire lace trim was famously used in the creation of a dress worn by the character Bella in the film Breaking Dawn. Dramatic double-scalloped edges frame this beautiful trim, surrounding a complex lattice design of semi-abstract flowers and foliage to give a look of pure elegance. If required, the wedding fabric can carefully split along the centre, effectively doubling the amount of usable edging. Check out our gallery to see a gorgeous dress featuring Claire lace trim.

Add a splash of colour to your wedding dress or accessories with our fantastic collection of coloured lace trims and edgings. For more information on the collection, please give our skilled bridal team a call on 01254 873333 or email info@bridalfabrics.co.uk.

Our latest wedding fabrics are all bridal laces and each is fresh for the season - order now and be the most stylish bride down the aisle!

Faye

Faye, derived from the Old English word for ‘fairy’, is the perfect name for this dreamy, ethereal wedding lace. An intriguing and eclectic mixture of styles has been used in its creation; irridescent beads, shimmering sequins and airy feathers are embellished onto an ivory tulle to complement detailed embroidery which is highlighted with striking yet subtle Champagne filigree thread.

Ava

Matching scalloped edges frame a Brocade style pattern which, created from expertly-embroidered ivory thread on the finest of tulle backgrounds, form the eye-catching centrepiece of Ava ivory lace. Further embellishment is offerd in the form of bead, sequins and luxurious pearls.

Tilly & Keira

With a fringed finish, matching edges and a beautiful floral design rendered in fine embroidery, both of these laces are set to cause a stir on aisles and catwalks this season. Both Tilly and Keira laces feature embellished petals; the difference between the two is that Keira bridal lace has additional cording to create a more three-dimensional effect.

Mistral Crystal Embroidery - Breathtaking and Beautiful

Lani van Rooyen, an extremely talented designer, recently sent us some absolutely stunning photographs of one of her latest, one-of-a-kind creations made using wedding dress material from Platinum Bridal Fabrics. Ayesha, the bride, was absolutely thrilled with the dress and, when asked how she felt, said that she was ‘beyond happy’ with the end result.

Lani has always had an interest in fashion design and went on to study the subject in her native country of South Africa. She excelled, beating off stiff competition to win both coveted titles of Best Art Student and Best Student Design. Soon after leaving education, Lani established a studio from where she designed and manufactured a diverse range of garments, quickly discovering that her true passion was for wedding gowns. After a long period spent travelling and gaining valuable experience, Lani moved with her husband to Canada and established R O O Y Couture & Consulting in 2009.

To create the dress shown in these beautiful pictures, Lani used a number of Mistral crystal embroideries from Platinum Bridal Fabrics. This beautiful wedding embellishment has a unique and arresting shape, formed from two opposing teardrops separated by an oval central area. Heavily crystallised to give a dazzling and shimmering effect, Mistral crystal motifs are emblazoned with a choice selection of beads, sequins and diamantes, each of which has been skilfully embroidered by hand onto the finest ivory tulle. This design is normally used at the waist though, as is clear from the photographs, a skilled and creative designer like Lani can break all the rules and still be right.

You can find out more about Lani’s impressive work by visiting her site at http://www.rooycouture.com. The stunning photographs were taken by Buffy Goodman, whose website can be viewed at  www.buffygoodman.com. We would like to thank Lani for taking the time to get in touch with us.
