These New Fabrics Deserve To Be Worshipped!

Devotion. Empathy. Benevolence. No, we haven't suddenly transformed ourselves into a religious order - these are the beautiful and evocative names given to the trio of new fabrics available and, when you see and feel them for yourself, you will understand exactly why we have titled them in such a reverential and worshipful way!

We are really excited about these three new fabrics, which are all extremely versatile and of the standard high quality you expect from Platinum Bridal Fabrics. Free samples are of course readily available should you wish to examine the perfect beauty of this wedding dress material for yourself.

Devotion

This stunning fabric is an acetate viscose satin, the two materials blended expertly together in a 60:40 ratio to give a wonderfully smooth handle that is like a whisper of summer breeze through the treetops. It is perfect for making bridesmaid dresses and comes in a selection of 10 vibrant tones, from the bright and vivacious Cardinal to the shimmering and ornamental Forest Green.

Empathy

Manufactured from 97% polyester with a 3% touch of elastane, this is a sumptuously stretchy satin that is ideal for creating unique, magical effects. The addition of elastane that gives the stretch also imbues the material with more strength than an average satin, allowing it to be worked into more extreme styles - let your imagination go wild! A huge palette of colours spans the spectrum through Turquoise, Rose and Aubergine, taking in metallic and classic colours along the way

Benevolence

Smooth and lightweight, this polyester chiffon comes all the way from fashionable Italy and has an absolutely gorgeous drape. No minimum quantities means you can order as much or as little as you like, choosing from 15 beautiful colours including Lilac, Gold and Burgundy.

So, if you are looking forward to your wedding and deciding on which fabrics to use, then you should definitely check out this little lot and consider them in your design ideas. As always, we would love to receive photos of our customers in their finished garments and you could soon feature in your very own Platinum Bridal Fabrics news article!

These New Laces Will Take Your Breath Away...

New, new, new! One of our favourite parts of our work here at Platinum Bridal Fabrics is receiving new lace and material to add to our collection, further improving the range and your choice. We believe that you can never have enough choice when it comes to looking fabulous and so we are always sourcing gorgeous new stock - the latest batch has arrived and we have several lovely new laces to present. Enjoy!

Sybil - Ivory Chantilly Lace

Sybil - Ivory Chantilly Lace

Chantilly lace is going to be huge next season according to our bridal insiders and this is a particularly attractive and unusual example. The borders are non-matching to add an immediate sense of the esoteric and its exciting floral design must be seen to be believed, so check out our video for more. Elegant cording adds even more interest by creating texture and relief - a final fringe adds that perfect completing touch.

Birdie - Ivory Chantilly Lace

Birdie - Ivory Chantilly Lace

What, no flowers? The majority of bridal laces feature floral touches but this is an abstract design that has none at all. Scalloped, fringed edges surround a pattern that is ephemeral and shifting, with corded detail adding that extra charm. We cannot wait to see what our talented customers create using this fabric.

Kate - Black Lace Trim

Kate - Black Lace Trim

Kate Chantilly Lace is very popular, partly because it featured in Kate Middleton’s wedding dress but also because it is a particularly beautiful design. The lace trim that matches it is now available in Black, to meet growing demand for this colour. Check out the full colour range and be dazzled!

Hester - Ivory Raschel Lace

Hester - Ivory Raschel Lace

Delicate and divine, this stunning lace is a close relation of Valerie lace, though is less embellished and does not feature beads. A sweet, simple design, Hester has fringed and scalloped edges and is incredibly versatile, perfect for creating accessories as well as being used on the dress itself.

So, now you have read about our new laces, it is time to find out more details of your favourite! Bridal Fabrics - Reinvented for Baby!

https://www.bridalfabrics.co.ukBaby Cot

Bridal Fabrics - the clue is in the name! But, in our dizzy, constant and neverending world of weddings, we sometimes forget to mention that our fabrics are often used for lots of other garments, from prom dresses and other eveningwear to christening gowns, fancy dress and theatrical costumes. And it is not just clothes, either! Check out THIS exciting use of one of our favourite bridal lace designs - Eloise.

Yes, you can believe what your eyes are now telling you - these absolutely stunning, handcrafted heirloom cots were lovingly created by talented mum-and-daughter duo Deborah and Olivia who, together, produce these and a number of other items. With a truly antique look that would make any baby feel like a prince or princess, while making the nursery look and feel relaxed and comfortable for Mum and Dad, each cot is carefully designed and planned before being brought into reality by the artistic pair.

Baby Cot

The designs that are featured here are just two of the many available, which you can see more of on Deborah and Olivia’s web page at Deborahpageoriginals.webs.com. Their website has become extremely popular, fuelled by a recent return to more traditional tastes in interior design, particularly when it comes to the nursery. We were delighted to receive the photographs here, which show a classic bassinet cradle and the Rolls-Royce of heirloom cots, a magnificent 4-poster design with silk flower details.

Both of these designs incorporate Eloise lace, adding the perfect finishing touch of class. Eloise is a border lace and is available in Black, White or Ivory, with matching trim and appliqués also in stock. The gorgeous varying floral motifs are expertly arranged to give a complete, harmonious look, which centres on a single large bloom. Check out our gallery to see Eloise lace used in a more traditional manner - as part of a wedding gown!

Thanks so much to Deborah and Olivia for sharing these wonderful photos. You have made us all feel broody - but we only want a baby so we have an excuse to buy one of those heirloom cots. Check out Eloise wedding lace and don’t forget to visit Deborah and Olivia’s page.

Never Mind Flowers — Say It With Feathers!

If you want to feel heavenly at your wedding (and who doesn’t?!), then what you need is light, feminine and angelic feathered lace, which is in high demand right now and has been seen on red carpets and haute-couture catwalks recently as well as on trendsetting, stylish brides. We have got an exquisite, exclusive selection of feather lace to choose from so be an angel and rule heaven with Bridal Fabrics!

As well as providing waterproof protection and allowing flight, the feathers of birds are also used by them as a means of communication, delivering vital signals to other birds and animals. This is true of almost all birds from the humble duck or pigeon to the astounding unmatched beauty of the bird-of-paradise, each of whom uses colours in (mostly his). plumage to attract a mate.  Across almost every culture throughout history, humans have collected bird feathers to be worn for a variety of reasons, from status symbols and ceremonial use to simple beautifying ornaments.

Three of our favourite feather laces (though it was hard to choose!) are:

bridal fabrics nikitaNikita

Available in either white or ivory, Nikita wedding lace is an instant eye-catcher with floral motifs surrounded by ethereal feathers, each carefully attached with a pearl or bead. Even further decoration, comprising filigree thread, ivory and clear beads and shimmering sequins, elevates this lace to a luxurious work of art, guaranteed to be the talking point of the big day. A softly-undulating border is delicately stitched with the finest embroidery and more choice beads are added to complete Nikita white or ivory lace.

ivory lace chantelleChantelle

While flamboyant and extravagant, Chantelle lace maintains a cool, calm and collected feel with its abstract reflection of a softly-clouded summer sky. Heavily-embellished wings extend deeply into the design from both extremes, carrying with them a selection of pearls and beads that give this fabric a regal swish as the wearer moves. Running throughout the elaborate yet subtle pattern is a fine filigree thread of a deep Champagne colour, accenting and complementing the soft white feathers.

ivory lace fayeFaye

The name Faye is derived from the Middle English word for ‘fairy’ and is perfect for this intriguing, otherworldly lace. Pretty, feminine and designed with extravagance in mind, Faye lace is made up of a joyfully-riotous mixture of sequins, filigree thread, heavy embroidery and beads on a delightful ivory tulle background. Feathers are used to add the perfect finishing touch.

Glide gracefully down the aisle in one of our feathered laces - you will be enchanting

We Love Lusi — And We Know YOU Will Too...

Hold the front page -  in a bold and exciting step, Bridal Fabrics have teamed up with a very exclusive designer to bring you an equally-exclusive collection of lace that is going to blow your bridal stockings off! We suggest that you sit back and relax before checking out these brand new, beautiful wedding dress laces - you will need every last bit of breath you can muster to gasp in wonder as each fabric is revealed and we are not even exaggerating. Prepare for perfection…

Firstly, we can reveal that the designer with whom we are making this historic connection is Lusi Embroideries, a company that has been successfully established for more than half a century. It was in 1964 that the Tubaldos, Luciana and Silvio, decided that their years of experience with embroidery needed to be brought to a wider audience. Investment and lots of hard work combined with that intangible yet essential factor - raw natural talent - ensured the venture was a swift success, quickly propelling the family to fame throughout their native Italy.

Lusi Embroideries is still a family-run company - and still by the same family, now in its second generation. Seamlessly blending their expertise with a healthy dose of experimentation, the family produce materials of exquisite quality, featuring high-end craftsmanship of the most refined sophistication. Working closely with carefully-selected brands all over the world, Lusi continue to innovate and excite, remaining at the forefront of bridal couture.

After much agonised deliberation, the final four laces were decided upon and added to our collection. A long wait while all the details were finalised is over and now available to fall in love with, purchase and then treasure forever are:

Ivory embroidery lace Sloane - this is a showcase of the many embroidery techniques utilised by designers at Lusi and so gives a very unusual effect. The detailed pattern extends right to the edge of the soft tulle base in the same way on either side, though is half-dropped to further heighten its uniqueness. Check out the video on the product page to see this effect in action
Ivory embroidery lace Briella - if luxury is your thing then say hello to Briella, a lace with a feminine floral design that captures the imagination with its seemingly-infinite variety of blooms. The eyes are just as completely captured by the addition of a single, subtle golden filigree thread
Ashlyn Ashlyn - this divine material also uses filigree thread to wondrous effect, only this time it is silver and designed to really catch the light. A textured look is achieved using various types of embroidery to form a striking, bold and dramatic pattern
Ivory embroidery lace rowan Rowan - the final design of the four is pretty, sweet and dreamy, ready to help create that perfect fairytale wedding. This lace really has to be seen to be believed and appreciated properly, so why not take advantage of our free sample service?

You deserve the very best on your wedding day and lace by Lusi Embroideries definitely falls into that category. Which of our fabulous four will be your ideal ivory?
